Since the beginning of this month a certain US company can no longer charge my credit card. This has always worked, but no longer.
So I went to the bank: "We don't see anything wrong with your card. Call Bank Card Company.".
Calling Bank Card Company is an interesting experience. It doesn't matter when you call, you always get a message saying there currently are very long waiting times. Then you have to listen to horrible noise, which I assume they call music, for half an hour. They really do their best to discourage you from calling.
I had to call them 3 (!) times before I finally got someone who could give me a decent explanation about the problem. But now at least I know what the problem is.
Knowing what the problem is and getting it fixed are two different things entirely. Now I'm somewhat stuck, both Fortis and BCC claim that they can do nothing about it. Though it appears to be Fortis that is blocking the transaction. When I called their customer support line, they even suggested that I find another means of payment. Great service, I get to pay for a card that only works half of the time.
Ok, so I'll find another way to pay them.. this morning I just went to another bank. Probably no better service, but with 2 card there is a greater chance of having one that actually works ;)
